WANDERING

These images are very personal, being created during a formative time in my life, a transitory period where I searched for deeper meaning and purpose. This need for meaning drove me to seek out places of solitude and beauty, to find in the reality of the world the depth of connection that the written words of Thich Nhat Hanh and other teachers could offer me. Wandering off into the beauty that is the Paparoa National Park I would leave the designated track far behind and explore deep into the bush; eventually to discover an idyllic place to rest where I would sit and sleep under the forest canopy, the line between myself and the forest becoming blurred.

So if I could give you one thing, it would be this...

For you to go out into the forest alone,

to sit,

to be still,

to breathe,

and to stay for much, much longer than you believe is necessary.
